Today I had the same type of breakfast because it was quick and easy... and because I couldn't be bothered finding anything else to eat. I knew that I still had lots of bananas and yogurt left so that's why I didn't have to waste time looking for something new. But this time round, I thought i'd add a bit more to it by sprinkling it with a handful of muesli :) And we all know that muesli is a good source of fibre and because of it's wholegrain goodness!
My breakfasts have been looking so much prettier this week, don't you agree?
For lunch I quickly went out to meet up with my cousins and we decided to go for Yum Cha. Yum Cha is always a favourite in our family, it's just the food, the service and the atmosphere we all love. It's like going to a sushi train... food is constantly offered in front of you and you take whatever you feel like eating without thinking about the price! And then you look at the bill and think "oh wow, we ate heaps didn't we?". But I mean, don't get me wrong, we don't always dread about the bill! I think the atmosphere of Yum Cha is always exciting. The waiters walking around with the trolley, you are always excited to see what food they have to offer, you sit around waiting for that particular dish to come around to your table, you feel slack for constantly rejecting the lady who has the gross dishes... it's all really fun. And it ALWAYS, ALWAYS brings everyone on the table closer together. Because no matter what, you always have to ask everyone else whether they want the same dish or not to share. It's such a great icebreaker and I feel that everytime I go with my family, we always manage to get along easily. And that's saying something.
Yummy dim sims. Always a good choice.
Prawns in this soft rice sheet drizzled in soy sauce. Everytime I go to Yum Cha, this is what I order. EVERY SINGLE TIME. And we got some duck as well. With plum sauce on the side. So good!
Salt and pepper squid. It was so so tasty at this place. Perfectly cooked!
Mango pancake. Crepe filled with mango and creme. Yummy!
Over lunch, my cousins kept commenting on how I took photos of everything I ate. I explained to them about this blog and the purpose of the blog - making me feel guilty and realise all the crap I have eaten. It was really interesting to explain to them how i've been feeling when I reviewed everything I ate last week and calculated how much i've spent on food. They were pretty shocked that I was dedicated enough to take a photo of everything I ate. But extremely interested because they, believe it or not eat worse than me! So I actually suggested to them that they do the same even if it were for just week. Just to see right infront of them, everything that they have eaten over the week and see just how crap they eat. I think they were a little hesitant but were keen on the idea.
On our way out, Sumo Salad were offering free samples so I quickly grabbed one and at least that made me feel better about the semi greasy food I ate!
Carrots, avocado, salad, feta cheese... I am healthy :)
Later that night for dinner, Mum decided to have fillet steak with vegetables and rice on the side. There was also salad and gravey too! And I friggen love my gravey. So much, especially on rice. Yum!! I think Mum's dinners are always a safe bet because I am getting the meat I need each day and the vegetables too. If I were to constantly cook, I always forget about the vegetables or only include 1 serving.
Potatoes, zucchini, and carrots!
Greek salad :)
After today, i've realised how important this blog is and how it affects the way you look at yourself. It was just different for me to be able to explain to someone about the blog - I haven't done that before and tell them what it has done for me so far. Talking about how shit I felt when I had to show people the food i've eaten for breakfast really made me want to become healthier. And scrolling through the photos from each entry just freaked me out because looking into the health risks made me scared. When looking at the importance of fruit and vegetables, I just felt like I was ruining my body, not giving it the respect it needed! So i'm trying, trying to get into it and make a change.
Nobody judge me!
