Who loves free food? I do!

Ahhh yes, another product launch night which means another night to take advantage of the wonderful free food and drinks. Canon hosted their 'One Night Only' product launch event which was pretty amazing. You can tell Canon are high up there in terms of cameras/printers! Each table had their own ice sculpture!

So today, I decided to run around the house trying to find something to eat for breakfast. I didn't really feel like spending money (again) on food so I had to mix and match around the kitchen. It never has any food =(

Healthy multigrain bread with cranberry sauce - I bet the cranberry sauce ruined the healthiness.

Yeah it was the closet thing to jam I had...

Not that I really care about fat free products, this was just in the fridge and thought it'd be a good breakfast.

A banana! Probably my favourite fruit to eat :) And I feel good eating it!

I didn't have a proper lunch today because after uni, I just drove home and for some reason was heappppsss tired. So a nana nap took place instead of eating food. Beau came to pick me up for tonight's product launch. I was heaps hungry but didn't want to eat a meal because obviously we were going to get dinner in an hours time so I snacked on chocolate and packets of chips. All one after the other. Hmmm.

I pretty much scoffed these down one after the other. No joke. And I didn't feel very good afterwards =(

Dinner came along at the Canon 'One Night Only' event and the food was pretty goooood! Free too so that was even cooler hehe ;) I think I missed out on the finger food being served before hand which sucked because I usually go crazy for all the finger food haha. Like i'm the type of person to stand next to the kitchen and grab the waiters as soon as they come out. I am cool like that. The entree was pretty damn good, prawns with avocado and some sauce to it. Really, really nice. Not sure what that oily sauce was, but either way it was really nice! The main was chicken breast with cous cous in some tomato base. That was also pretty good too! Didn't really fill me up but it was still very nice. I didn't feel unhealthy eating it because the chicken wasn't fried or it didn't have any oily skin. I guess the way they presented the food it looked very gourmet and because of that, I had this assumption that it was healthy. I had some of Beau's steak too which also didn't feel like it was fattening because the food wasn't drenched in any sauce or oily for that matter. It was very plain and I think that's why I didn't think twice about whether it was healthy or not. The dessert was so so. It was a banana flavoured cake but didn't hit the spot for me. When it comes to dessert, I most definitely do not care about how healthy it is or not. As long as it tastes good, that's all that matters. Being fat doesn't bother me because i'm skinny already. But I guess having heart problems and crazy stuff like that freaks me out... but I don't know, I feel like I can't constantly watch EVERYTHING I eat!

The classic bread with butter as a starter. I usually hate eating just bread and
butter but I
wanted to fit in and I guess I just like to munch on something whenever
talking at the dinner table!

The entree! I really liked this dish. Notice how the prawn wasn't drizzled in
anything, making it look and taste a lot healthier!

Chicken breast with the cous cous underneath it. I'm still not sure what the paste and sauce
was but that too wasn't unhealthy tasting... it was light and didn't make me feel
like i'm going to die early.

Steak was plain with just a bit of sauce... I didn't really eat a lot of it seeing as it wasn't my dish!

Annnd the dessert! The chocolate at the bottom wasn't overwhelmingly rich so
another reason why I didn't feel too bad.

On our way home Beau decided he was still hungry so we didn't the typical thing and went into a drive through Maccas. Ahhh seeing as he was shouting me some Maccas, how on earth do you say no to it? Instead you say "yeah i'll have a six pack of nuggets... and i'll eat your fries."

Did I feel good about myself afterwards? No I did not. It was so beautifully tasty, it made me sick! You can just tell when something isn't good for you. I mean, just look at the photo compared to the other ones... I don't know whether its because the other photos were in a more posh environment and the Maccas photos are taken in a car but I just feel grossed out when I see the deep fried crispy nuggets. Argh they taste so good, but you just know they are bad for you. So why did I get it then? Because it was free? Because I was just simply hungry? I have no idea but I feel like every time I order it, I don't care about anything and then once I close the box and scrunch up my rubbish I just feel so crappy inside.

I think the big problem with me is that I still don't know what's good for me and what isn't. Say for example, tonight when I got all my free dinners... how do I say no to it? It's not like I can request anything else. And then at the same time, how do I know this chicken is actually free range chicken? It's so hard to try and be that environmentally aware person. I need to work on what I NEED to eat properly. And actually have proper meals throughout the day! If I had a proper lunch, I would not have eaten those packets of chips one after the other.

Nobody judge me!

Jocelyn
